Review of Before Sunrise (1995) by Ethan A — 29 Aug 2014
One night in Vienna between two people who met on a train. Nothing happens. They don't get together. All they do is walk and talk, and it is probably the most romantic film I've ever seen. The first installment in the "Before" trilogy, Before Sunrise is an unapologetically romantic film, and a beautiful one at that.
Featuring two extraordinary performances from Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy, an amazing script, and superb direction from Richard Linklater; Before Sunrise is a seminal feat in minimalistic filmmaking and one of the greatest romances ever put to film.
