Review of Before Midnight (2013) by I-Onell S — 09 Dec 2013
What a way to have the third installment of this beautiful love story play out. Jesse and Celine are in Greece. They are vacationing and it has now been over 20 years since they first met. He has a son with his ex-wife and two beautiful blond daughters with Celine.
They are at a crossroads in their life and it is played out like a story that has everything intricate that life really does hold true. The romance, the pain during a fight, the truth told to each other, the lies withheld from each other's past, and the love that binds their relationship together that might save it all.
The whole movie is a great reminder of why I fell in love with Before Sunrise and Before Sunset. And here we are in Before Midnight, and I'm as consumed as ever. Such a great script and both are brilliant actors with the edge to Julie Delpy for just living this character to its point of resounding vulnerability.
