Review of Before Midnight (2013) by Monika S — 21 Jun 2018
Definitely not a feel good movie. I certainly like witty, colorful and differentiated communication between people but what we are experiencing here is a woman who has never really dealt with her rather large issues about "the evil and abusing men".
Her actual man is everything but that. She is actually in paradise or at least close to it but is completely unable to see that. In her egocentric worries about her automomy she showers her man with logorrhoeic waterfalls of unfair accusations.
It makes one sad for the man and one wonders how and why he puts up with that much shit. His loyalty is incredible. Her inability to see the good in him and his own struggles as well.
