Review of Before Midnight (2013) by Amber S — 09 Aug 2013

I'm afraid my view goes against the popular vote. The dialogue between this increasingly snarky couple is relentless, much of it with an undertone of cruelty. Surely their 'happy' relationship has reached a point of maturity and comfortable familiarity where they might happily spar or banter and one another's incomplete sentences might effortlessly roll off the others tongue? It's not all bad, the acting and flow are natural yet unlike the first two films in the series the tension between Jesse and Celine is off key.

Can you still call it a romance...
