Review of Before Midnight (2013) by Diah S — 17 Sep 2013
Adding realism not only to topics mentioned in the first two installments of this romantic drama series, the movie is able to tackle darker ground without giving up any of its potency. 'Before Midnight' flawlessly looks into the lives of a couple that we have admired and enjoyed listening to for three films.
Once again Linklater uses long, continuous takes of conversation between Jesse and Celine that feel improvised and original, showing us that love can and does exist, but relationships are not always perfect.
'Before Midnight', as well as its two predecessors 'Before Sunrise' and 'Before Sunset', should definitely not be missed. This is the best film of the summer.
