Review of Before I Go to Sleep (2014) by Richard S — 13 Feb 2015

This is a pretty faithful adaptation of the book (which I liked a lot). The film perhaps loses some of the tension from the book or maybe that was due to me already being very familiar with the storyline?, it's tough to tell!. I had similar feelings about Shutter Island, a story I loved reading with a great twist but because I was already aware of the twist I think it took away some of my enjoyment from the film and the same can probably be said of this one.

That said it is still a decent mystery / thriller with a strong cast although coming to it without any prior knowledge of the story will probably mean you get more out of it.
