Review of Beetlejuice (1988) by Jon C — 13 Mar 2013
Tim Burton once again leaves his slate creating a cult classic that's gothic, dark and creepy.
Michael Keaton is a riot as the title role even though he's not in the movie that much but boy does he get annoying every once in a while.
But that's part of the charm of this film.
It deals with death and it's not all it's cracked up to be.
Two people die and are forced to come to terms with their afterlives.
Lydia and her family moving in complicates things more and Beetlejuice decides to take matters into his own hands.
The special effects are creepy and quite intense for little children, there's some bad language here and there being a PG movie, the actors do a good job and the dark humor in the script keeps things fresh.
If only Wynona Ryder could have stayed good until...well, you know.
Anyways this is a cult classic that more people will find a strange watch but enjoy it regardless.
