Deepa Mehta blew my mind away. She's a provocative groundbreaking director and so is Beeba Boys...first time I've felt intimidated and scared by a hot fashionable group of info-Canadian gangsters!!!! I'd never thought this reality existed in Canada and to learn about these Vancouver facts was illuminating. What happens when immigration and integration take a wrong turn? What people are committed to do in order to belong and be seen...

Many Indian films show Indians as weak cab driver, Doctors or less relevant characters. Deepa Mehta is once again ahead of times and she gave kick ass characters to brown actors. This film deals with so many taboos in such an original and unseen way that I totally love it!!! And the style is the icing on the cake.
