Review of Bee Movie (2007) by Sara W — 28 Nov 2010

Perhaps it was marred by the clunky edited-for-TV version I saw, but this movie is all over the place. One minute you think it's an adventure story, the next moment it's a law suit story, the next its an action movie, all the while it's a social commentary on labor, and there's a strange romantic storyline in there somewhere. It all sounds fun but they fit so awkwardly together.

Sure there were a few sight gags or one-liners that made me chuckle, and the animation is colorful and kid-friendly, and I was really impressed with how they did they animated the girl, but gosh dang it, they didn't even have the courtesy of TRYING to make it scientifically accurate?

Using rose pollen to pollinate EVERY OVER PLANT, seriously, come on?
