Review of Bedknobs and Broomsticks (1971) by Dan P — 18 Oct 2008
I caught the last half of this on TCM recently - hadn't seen it in about ten years. I'm surprised it's not very well-remembered. Some musical numbers really stand out: "Portobello Road," "The Beautiful Briny," and "Substitutiary Locomotion" are all very catchy and memorable.
They got me interested in the Sherman Brothers' scores. The puppetry and other visual effects in the last half of the movie are very entertaining.
