Review of Bed and Board (1970) by James M — 14 Aug 2008
Its truffauts acute sense of self-interpretation that make the films that make up the doinel cycle so good. that and leauds performance. there are just some qualities about that character that even when you know hes screwing up you continue to root for him.
the film is endearing, highly comical, well written, intimate, empathetic, among many other qualities. he may miss the mark from the time to time but truffaut generally makes a film thats right on target.
like this one.
