Review of Becket (1964) by Anne F — 20 Apr 2008
Peter O'Toole was absolutely stunning in this film - Richard Burton and John Gielgud were pretty good too, but I feel that O'Toole was just brilliant in his portrayal of Henry II.
The film was spoilt by historical inaccuracy - the most glaring error, which was constantly repeated, was the assertion that Becket was of Saxon rather than Norman stock.
