Review of Becket (1964) by Ben D — 04 Oct 2012
Richard Burton and Peter O'Toole star in one of the most over-looked historical epics of the 1960s. Offering fantastic performances, and a solid script, Becket is thoroughly worth the effort of tracking down a copy.
When I wanted to see it, there was no DVD or VHS and it hadn't been shown on TV in a decade. Now it is on DVD. Do yourself a favour, and watch it. It might not be the greatest film ever, and it does have a few duff moments, but power-house acting like this comes along rarely.
Worth it.
