Review of Because I Said So (2007) by Shelby H — 17 Jan 2009
This movie was advertised as a touching story of a mother and her last unmarried daughter. A decent sounding premise, a mom trying to find Mr. Right for her daughter, quickly turned into a horrible movie.
The mother-daughter relationship is so dysfunctional that its mending seems hacked together. Then, the comedic moments were either boring or very crude. Diane Keaton must have phoned in this performance.
Mandy Moore seemed like she was just in there to remind people that she was a singer. The only "good" performance was by the guy who plays the dad in "7th Heaven", and even that wasn't great.
