Review of Beauty and the Beast (2017) by Bubbs R — 14 Jun 2017
A Tale as old as time this surely is. Disney has been making live action films for many of their animations. Every live action film up to date have been excellent and this one's no exception. This film was an overall excellent retelling of a classic story. The cast was fantastic. Emma Watson was a perfect Belle. She was a strong smart woman in this film just like she was in the original. Dan Stevens was excellent as the beast. He made the beast character his own and did well with it. Luke Evans was awesome as Gaston, a villain that we all love to hate. He did really well playing the bad guy in this film and he also was a charming, stylish Gaston. Josh Gad was excellent as LeFou. Going into this film I heard the controversy about his character and I chose to not listen. It's good that I did because he played a good comedic sidekick. He really fit the part. Everyone on the cast were great singers and they fit the songs. The CGi was convincing and well generated. Overall, this is another excellent Live Action Disney Adaptation with an excellent cast and story. An cool experience in the theatres. It's not as good as the original, but it's a cool watch.
Rating: 8.8/10.
