Review of Beauty and the Beast (2017) by Larry H — 30 Jul 2017

A harmless live action remake of a beloved classic that actually adds to the source material. In 2017's Beauty and the Beast we get more characterization for Belle and The Beast than in the animated original. At times I get the feeling that Emma Watson is phoning it in but aside from that the cast is great. Most notably is Luke Evans who plays the role of Gaston perfectly. The story and musical numbers are as charming as ever, as are the elaborate sets that have been created.

No matter how cash-grabby these remakes may seem you can never count Disney out when it comes to making enjoyable experiences.
