Review of Beautiful Thing (1996) by Gio P — 10 Jun 2009
It really suits its title. Beautiful Thing is a sweet coming-of-age gay flick that's also a family comedy. You can laugh and smile all throughout because of its wonderful characters and powerful performances.
Great turns from Linda Henry as the tough as nails mom, Glen Berry and Scott Neal as the teenage lovers, Ben Daniels as the mom's hippie-ish boyfriend and Tameka Empson as the hilarious Mama Cass-addicted neighbor. All great performances.
It is lovable, adorable and just a very very beautiful thing.
And now I am addicted to it and how I wish I could meet them. :(.
