Review of Beautiful Girls (1996) by Joshua T — 03 Jan 2009
The best movie from the 90's that most have never seen. This is the romantic coming-of-age dramedy that never falls into the cliches, but reaches out to actually say something and teach a thing or two.
The perfect movie to watch to see into the true psyche of the average male. And the only one that can make you see why and how women are responsible for it. This is the story that really takes off the blindfold and allows the little boy inside to realize that no girl will ever be perfect, but every girl is beautiful in her own way, and there's a lesson to be learned from seemingly every relationship (no matter how small).
It's about letting go of fantasy, and grasping onto the wonderful reality of life before it slips away. Every actor/actress shows true form here, all doing their best work. Hutton, Rappaport, Dillon--all actors that are far underrated.
No one could have made this better. This one is really something special. Don't see this movie. Own it. It never fails to touch or enlighten. P.S--If you've seen this and loved it, find the complete series of 'October Road'.
I've never seen a series so similar to a seemingly unrelated film.
