Review of Beautiful Girls (1996) by Miriam B — 02 Oct 2004
I saw garden state last night. Natalie Portman's character reminded me so much of Shel! the soundtrack was a little self-consciously trendy. but I really liked the Zero 7 track and I've been listening to it on UM's Napster. Despite the inaccuracies about the nature of prescribing psychotropic medication, which annoyed me, it was a sweet movie. Sweet as in "awww.".
While I'm at it I guess I'll rate another Natalie Portman movie. Beautiful Girls is brilliant and Timothy Hutton is cute. But it actually had a point. which is most of the time a good thing. & this was the first time I saw Natalie Portman, and she was amazing as this thirteen year old girl Hutton falls in love with. I wanted to be her, of course. :-).
