Super teen movie. I've never read the books. Felt very disjoint and predictable. The two main characters had zero chemistry and I did not find the appeal of the so called cuteness of the main male character.

However what did save this movie was some of the supporting actors - I loved how much fun and campy the adults played their roles. I was intrigued by this world and curious to learn more but thoroughly uninterested in the main characters and their so-called tragic love story which means most of the movie was unfortunately boring.
