As an addict myself, I have to say this film is a real and authentic view of what addiction does, not only to a family, but to the individual. Hollywood portrays addiction in a way that feels incredibly artificial.
Currently reading the books that this movie was based on and I do think this was done incredibly well. Timothee Chamalet and Steve Carrells relationship reminds me that of my own with my parents.
