Stylized cinematography....quasi-typical war story...you just _know_ who's doomed to die and who's going to be maimed and the small betrayals; however, it's more sensitively done than most and the scenery outside the fort is gorgeous.
It could have been cut by about 20 minutes with no loss of impact.
