"Beasts of the Southern Wild" is a strikingly poetic and original journey, with an Oscar worthy performance from a then six year old girl. This is an unforgettable film and is pure magic to watch unfold. Although at times the narrative seems almost overly precious, the performances from unknown actors are suprisingly great, the stand outs being Quvenzhane Wallis (Hushpuppy) and Dwight Henry (Wink). Wallis, expressing the sheer joy and innocence of a child throughout her troubled life, is just fantastic. A highly overlooked film and needs to be seen by everyone.
