Review of Beasts of the Southern Wild (2012) by Sylvester K — 17 Feb 2013
You can say a film is good by talking about poverty, anarchism and violence within the film. As a liberal favorite, the film is very idealistic and eco-friendly. The acting was terrible because no one was really acting, the story line was simply retarded, and the narration was dreadfully annoying.
Gosh, never put a child as protagonist because they can't act, it's simple as that. The only actress ever to have been good since childhood was Drew Barrymore and that's it. The film kept on trying to make you cry by describing the poverty and the deteriorating environment these poor people live in.
The camera work was messy, so clumsy and shaky and all over the place. It's not even visually stunning OK, unlike most of the critics say, I don't think it's stunning at all but foul and disgusting.
Once again, a film is not good because it shows poor people, when will Hollywood accept this fact?
