Review of Beasts of the Southern Wild (2012) by Rob A — 16 Apr 2013
This movie is certainly strange, but does a really great job of capturing the natural urge we have to protect and care for those we love. I can't picture a place more different from where I grew up than "The Bathtub" yet I could relate so closely to Hushpuppy's love for her father, and his desire to protect her from fear.
It also brings up the question, why do we feel so attached to our homes and hometowns, no matter how destroyed or hopeless they become?
