This is a hard movie to watch because it showcases hard and brutal truths which many prefer to ignore. Many have claimed it goes too far, but I think it didn't go far enough. If you want to be entertained, you will be disappointed, if you want a harrowing drama of the human spirit in the face of hardship, you will be disappointed, if you expect action, thrills and spectacle à la Blood Diamond, you will be disappointed.
You do not watch Beasts of No Nation to enjoy it, you watch it to be sobered.
