Netflix's first entry into the orginal movie realm was respectable. Beasts of No Nation is the disturbing tale of Agu (Abraham Attah), a young boy whose village is caught up in the brutal events of a civil war. His family killed and nowhere to go, Agu is captured and then manipulated by the sadistic Commandant (Idris Elba) to become a child soldier bent on vengeance.

It's a disturbing look into the horror of genocide, civil war and the loss of adolescent innocence that occurs every day in war torn African countries.

Elba nails the African warlord and Abraham Attah turns in an impressive debut performance. Emmanuel Nii Adom Quaye was also good as Agu's best friend, Strika.

The movie itself was good, but dragged at some points. It could have been about 20 minutes shorter.
