Beasts of No Nation is spectacular. A harrowing bravado piece of cinematic mastery. Cary Fukunaga is a genius auteur as proven by Jane Eyre, Sin Nombre and True Detective Season 1. Here he shows war through the eyes of a child.
The film is depressing as hell, the film unrelenting in its depiction of war and violence. Idris Elba is brilliant as The Commandant, the man in control of the child soldiers. The film is a must see.
