Review of Bears (2014) by Thomas B — 21 Apr 2014
Accompanied by beautiful shots of the Alaskan wilderness, a mama bear embarks on a year long adventure to protect her newborn cubs, and show them the ropes. Well written and beautifully shot. John C. Reilly brought a lighter, happier presence to the narration.
The flow of time was a little confusing. I didn't know where we were in the year at some points, and the ending felt a little rushed. The movie was also a little too short. I didn't expect much from this film but left feeling very satisfied, and more appreciative of the wildlife on this planet.
Well done.
