People think this movie is supposed to be a series of comedic remakes, but really, it's about something much bigger than that. It's about the love of art and being involved in the creation of art.
It has a lot of genuine heart without talking down to its audience or bogging down its story with unnecessary exposition about the characters. This film does exactly what it should. It may not be Gondry's finest work, but it's certainly a delightful and welcome offering.
