Review of Be Kind Rewind (2008) by Karl R — 10 Aug 2010
Pros:
There is a very entertaining and unique plot. The re-filming process allows Black to be at his best.
Sweded - the process by which VHS tapes come from Sweden and in their novelty cost a lot more money.
Definitely creativity, especially when the movies are remade, and lovable as well.
Cons:
Corny, cheesy, and clunky.
Mos Def - Not an actor, Monica Diaz - Not her best.
Laughs were far and few between.
The filming of amateur filmmakers must have worn off on the producers.
Verdict: I think "sloppy" is a bit harsh but the movie itself was seemingly clunky and hard to get into. Sure it had its moments but its not worth seeing.
