I must thank You Tube, to finally see a film I heard so much about but had never seen. I have to keep reminding myself what they had to work with in the mid 1920's and by doing so I can really appreciate the vision of Eisenstein.
The more you see it, the more you see how many, even thousands of directors have copied on camera angles, building suspense etc. It is one of the true greats that is rarely shown, where today all I see is merchandised popcorn nonsense.
