For it's time, this was an incredible movie. If someone who had no understanding of movie history were to watch this, they would get little to nothing out of it. However, if you do have some knowledge or interest in movie history, this is a very important movie.

The editing techniques developed by Eisenstein were revolutionary. So many movies have taken something from this film or paid tribute to it in one way or another.
