Review of Battleship Potemkin (1925) by Steven M — 13 Jun 2008
I don't recall ever to have been so emotionally attached to a silent film. Eisenstein's montages really capture emotions quite well. Much of the effect of this film has never been replicated in the majority of subsequent cinema, although many have tried to copy it.
If you watch only one silent film, make it this one. Amazing.
