Review of Battleship Potemkin (1925) by Hakan D — 18 Sep 2008
Worth the Odessa staircase sequence alone. The rest of the film was less than noteworthy. The fact that they can put on a scene like the Odessa steps back in '25 shows how amazing Eisenstein was and how much of an impact he had on the future of cinema.
I wasn't blown away by the film, but the Odessa steps sequence will impact me as a filmmaker from now on.
