Review of Battleship Potemkin (1925) by Carol F — 24 Jul 2011
A revolution, wheater it be for war or peace, always starts with an opinion. That's what Sergei Eisenstein's The Battleship Potemkin is all about: the opinion that caused the uprising in 1905 in Russia.
It was not an immideate success, but it soon earned it's standard as the greatest propaganda film ever made and also stands as a symbol of revolution, as well the revolution for the craft of cinema with it's innovative use of montage editing.
Forever shall your memory be immortal, Sergei M. Eisenstein!
