Review of Battleship (2012) by Mike T — 23 Oct 2017
This movie was good too! I recommend going with your sister or you dad, because it's really WAY better and WAY funnier than the trailers make it look. The actual movie is so much better in my opinion than the trailers that it makes the trailers look like Battle: Los Angeles. This movie was different, quirky, unique, creative, and imo one of the best "summer blockbusters" of 2012. I loved the taco burrito jokes, the kfc jokes, the Art of War references, the first scene with the two brothers (in the bathtub) - honestly, I think the movie Battleship transcends "goofy" and was a lot more well-done than a goofy movie like Transformers 2. I was shocked at how much this movie stuck with me, and the aliens were extremely well done and places in the right part of the movie to make it seem almost "Independance Day"ish.
I recommend this to ambitious, reasonable, people who still crave, want, and create independence, and change, and are willing to try something new, and might be a little bit "dead and bloated" i.e. don't despise bands like Stone Temple Pilots or Nirvana. Anyone who likes those bands, should give this movie a try, as I will guess the person who does will be blown away, will be laughing, will be engaged, enlightened, enriched, entertained, enveloped (but in a good way) - and will admire the artistic prescence and pure thrills and entertainment value of BATTLESHIP.
