Review of Battlefield Earth (2000) by Charles P — 29 May 2013
Other than a satisfactory soundtrack, and some halfway decent special effects; Battlefield Earth is a complete mess of a movie.
John Travolta has proven to us that he can act, as he starred in such masterpieces like "Pulp Fiction", however; his acting in this movie is very over the top, and his costume design makes him look even more laughable than ever.
The camera work is the most appalling camera work that I have seen on film, every single shot is filmed at a 45 degrees angle, which makes the film look even worse than it already is, and it takes the cake as being the worst "Mainstream" film ever made. Yes, it's even worse than "Jaws: The Revenge".
The film has its unintentional humour, which may give it a cult status with other below par movies like "Troll 2", but overall; Battlefield Earth is still a mess of a movie. (2/10).
