Review of Battle Royale (2000) by Steve S — 27 Apr 2012
Commonly known as "The Japanese Hunger Games", even though this was done before even the book. Despite the similarities, this is definitely a Japanese take on it. The kids are younger, the movie a bit grislier, the action dirtier, and a bit less focused.
With so many characters, it's sometimes hard to keep track of them. Probably even mediocre by Japanese Action Movie standards, it's still very entertaining.
