Review of Battle of the Sexes (2017) by Regina P — 16 May 2018
It was entertaining enough. However, I have to take issue with how Margaret Court was portrayed as an evil witch who was not good enough to overtake King Kong and had to eat humble pie. I did not like that portrayal at all.
Court is a devout Christian, and I don't know how they were so sure of how her private conversations went. It was really unnecessary. Margaret Court was used as a foil to Billie Jean, and I don't understand why a movie about womens' empowerment found it necessary to tear down one woman's image in order to lift up another's.
