It is the typical leader story similar to the Longest Day. The film is told through the prospective of officers and a few "average" men. The film features Henry Fonda, Robert Shaw and Robert Ryan.
The director shared in the directorial duties in the Longest Day, which would seem to most likely serve to help this film due to its prospective. However, the film appears to be negatively impacted by its attempt to be a cross-section of the battle.
Some things are accurate, others are not. The acting does not help the film any at all. It featured several many typical melodramatic WWII film moments that are present in many of these early films. Also, simply, where is the snow? It is the Battle of the Bulge!
