Review of Battle of Britain (1969) by Glenn D — 02 Jul 2008
I first saw this in the cinema in1970. Viewing it on TV since, the edits on TV have been a little cruel, whether, for example, to remove some of the more graphic elements or the re-cutting of the end sequence using the William Walton score instead of the longer Ron Goodwin piece.
As a viewer you have realise some cinamatic license will have influenced the amount you could pack into 132 minutes, but given the resources available, a fantastic effort.
