Review of Battle of Britain (1969) by Ruth S — 27 Oct 2009
Although a little cheesy at times, as well as being more than a little biased, _Battle of Britian_ is still one of the best movies about WWII. The movie skillfully blends fact, story, and amazing action sequences with real aircraft (no computer generated phantoms back in 1969). If you are a fan of aviation history, or if you just like a good action movie, check it out.
Aside: To give the impression of thousands of aircraft in a time when there couldn't have been more than a dozen or so flying Heinkels or Spitfires left in the world, they were filmed over and over again, then creatively edited. The end result is pretty impressive, but given away by tail numbers and aircraft markings. Watch for them, if you want.
