Our planet is invaded by aliens arriving in meteor showers off the coast of our major coastal cities. This movie concentrates on a group of Marines posted to assist with the attack taking place near Los Angeles.
I didn't have much expectation for the film but it actually wasn't too bad. Much like Cloverfield with the shakey-cam (but a bit easier to put up with I thought here) and following a particular group of people as the events unfold around them. I can easily sum this up as a typical alien invasion movie, but it's done well.
