Review of Battle: Los Angeles (2011) by Robertryanson — 10 Apr 2011
What a load of tosh. It's exactly Independence Day meets District 9, with a bit of Skyline (late 2010 if you've already forgotten it - I had) thrown in for good measure. The movie smacks of a feeble organised attempt to elicit sympathy and emotion for an enemy you can't (really) see - the aliens.
Oh gee, that's what the US is doing in the Middle East right now. I would not at all be surprised to learn that this movie was (ultimately) funded by the US government for propaganda reasons. There are even attempts to plug recruitment for the US Marines and the small boy Hector is called a "young marine".
For its pure entertainment value please give us something less corny and predictable. Save your time and effort and watch something else.
