Review of Battle in Seattle (2007) by Justin Q — 27 Nov 2008
Although the fictionalised characters and personal plotlines aren't always completely convincing, the acting was strong and lent a sufficient amount of verite...in the end, though, the film is really carried along by the agonising and exhilarating force of the protest itself. It made me want to man the barricades.
But incredibly, yet. AGAIN. This was yet another movie in which Charlize Theron came and went without me realising who the hell she was. The woman is a chameleon!
I felt sorry for the guy who played the mayor's assistant--his entire role consisted of opening a door, entering, delivering bad news with a rueful expression, and then exiting.
