Review of Battle for the Planet of the Apes (1973) by Hunter D — 01 Feb 2009
The fifth and final installment in the series. This sci-fi sequel was very poorly plotted and the whole movie just seemed very cheaply made. The ending when the statue of the ape cried looked "cliched" and ridiculous.
The battle scenes were laughable and the whole story seems made to milk this cow dry...Roddy Mcdowall made his character Ceasar look like a wimp!...Still the movie is watchable and has glimpses of what this film would have been like if proper finacial aid was available.
A must for fans of the series and to get some closure..even if it leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth.
