Review of Battle for Haditha (2007) by Timothy M — 21 Oct 2010
Although Broomfields film is full of badly improvised dialogue (American and Iraqi alike) and lots of questionable plot choices - was Broomfield, or anyone involved in this film ACTUALLY there?? It sort of makes sense that Broomfield would make this movie; it's overwrought, naive and somehow extremely watchable.
.. Like every one of Broomfields mis-guided documentaries. And despite the fact that it feels very, very silly, it is also effective in showing how civilians are the ones that suffer most from insurgent-marine warfare and (possibly) informing it's viewers of one of the most horrific and covered-up events of the American-Iraq invasion.
