Review of Batman: Year One (2011) by Richard P — 12 Jul 2012
"Bullets don't hurt me. But I know pain. Sometimes I like to share it, with people like you.".
It's one of Batman's best graphic novels brought faithfully to screen, not much more to be said. Bryan Cranston as Jim Gordon is outstanding and from some of his other work too, I would suggest a shoe-in for a live-action Commish post-Nolan. Not entirely convinced by Benjamin McKenzie as the Dark Knight. I can see that they were trying to put his youthful inexperience across, but I don't want to hear a ponce under the cowl, thanks.
