Review of Batman: Year One (2011) by Charles C — 12 Jul 2012
Definitely not one of the best DC animated showcases, but worth a rent. Bruce Wayne's evolution into the Batman is used as a backdrop to tell the much less examined story of James Gordon and his crusade against crime and police corruption.
This is really the only interesting reason to see this movie. Animation is pretty good, but the voice acting could be better. Not a bad viewing experience, but it made me wish I was watching the Batman Animated Series instead.
A definite rent for Batman fans, if only to see the overdone origin story from a completely different perspective.
